Al Sahan Airport City

The Al Sahan Airport City is an aerotropolis that is inspired by the concept of an Arabian courtyard. Surbana Jurong was involved in the master plan design for the large development with a total site area of 1,400 hectares.

By tapping on our experience in international airports around the world, we were able to produce a plan that optimised land usage while encompassing the essence of what the city of Doha represents to the region.

The mixed-use development tapped on Qatar’s traditions while permitting a more forward-looking architecture to evolve over time.

This is evident in the development of the business district, entertainment venues, hi-tech business park and residential neighbourhoods. During design conceptualisation, SJ integrated modernity with tradition; all the while incorporating a warm welcome that an Arabian courtyard would extend to visitors.
