Amaravati, Capital City of Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh is building a new Capital City located between Vijayawada and Guntur. Surbana Jurong is the lead consultant in planning, urban design and conducting economic studies, positioning and infrastructure / industrial estate planning.
We created master plans for the capital region, capital city and a seed development to achieve six goals which are part of the resilience and regeneration plans for the city: jobs and homes for all, a world class infrastructure, a clean and green city, efficient resource management, and identity and heritage.
With over 7,000 square kilometres of land use for the AP capital region, our master plan guides Amaravati city’s development in India’s Andhra Pradesh state till 2050. The scope of the Capital Region Plan will progress in three stages:
Surbana Jurong will first review existing plans and data for integration into the planning process; it will then propose a Capital City Master Plan spanning over 125 square kilometres. Lastly, it will produce a seed development master plan with the objective of attracting investments.
