Surbana Jurong has signed an MOU with AeroLion Technologies, a Singapore-based start-up, to develop unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, or drone solutions, for the built and natural environments. The signing of the MOU took place on the sidelines of the Unmanned Systems Asia 2019 exhibition and conference.
The partners will jointly develop UAV solutions for various project applications, including land reclamation, workplace safety, site progression and fault detection in enclosed areas such as buildings and tunnels. Through this partnership, Surbana Jurong aims to integrate these UAV solutions into its current processes to further increase productivity and offer more value-added solutions to clients.
UAVs are one of several technologies transforming the engineering and construction industry. It not only boosts productivity and reduces overall project time and costs, it also provides more accurate data readings and improves worker safety.
