Continuing in its success with developing business parks, Surbana Jurong has won the role of designing Ningbo Innov Park in Ningbo, China, that focuses on intelligent manufacturing.
Surbana Jurong will provide the urban concept design, regulatory detailed planning and construction detailed planning services for the project that is located close to Ningbo Airport, which serves the city in China’s Zhejiang province. Thanks to Surbana Jurong’s track record with business parks, notably Singapore’s One-north innovation district, the company was deemed the best fit to plan the large-scale business park to address the need for fusing work, live and play in a next-generation business park.
The contract was awarded by CapitaLand China which Surbana Jurong had supported in its first successful land bid in China. This culminated in CapitaLand signing a collaborative agreement and forming a JV with the Ningbo government to deepen their partnership and co-develop the land. The Ningbo Innov Park is one of the developments earmarked for this piece of land.
Work on Ningbo Innov Park will commence with the starter plot for phase 1 with a GFA of 64,400m2 comprising industrial, R&D, residential, commercial, retail, civic & community and possibly hotel facilities.
