Jurong Island is today a top world-class oil refinery hub, home to more than 100 companies with investments well over S$47 billion.

Surbana Jurong was involved in the reclamation process to combine the 7 islands into one land mass, to form the current 3,200ha refinery enclave, Jurong Island. As the prime contributor to the energy and chemicals sector, there are 26,000 employees within the island.

Companies on the island have benefited from lower operating costs through creating synergistic relationships, sharing facilities, integrated utilities, tax incentives, and proximity to important regional markets.
