SJ wins award for implementing smart FM solutions

Surbana Jurong has been named FM Technology Provider of the Year for its efforts in implementing smart solutions such as SJ’s proprietary 24K Integrated Platform. The  International Facilities Management Association conferred the award on SMM Pte Ltd, SJ’s facilities management arm.  

The 24K Integrated Platform is essentially a Common Data Environment (CDE) platform for performing predictive maintenance for different asset types and gaining better insights from the data to help clients to optimise the operational cost of maintaining their assets while reducing their carbon footprint. This platform has machine learning capabilities and visualisation tools to cater to the needs of the various user profiles. The award recognised SMM’s success in implementing 24K analytics at two projects, Temasek Polytechnic, and the SJ Collaboration Hub. 

The award ceremony took place during World Workplace Asia-Pacific 2022, a hybrid conference hosted by Singapore International Facility Management Association. 

Accepting the award was Mr. James Chan, Managing Director, SMM Pte Ltd, the facility management arm of Surbana Jurong. He said: “The FM industry is going through a sea change. The smart solutions that we have introduced are attracting young talents who are excited to see the benefits that technology can bring to enhance the performance and lifecycle management of buildings.” 

Mr. Yeo Choon Chong, CEO, ASEAN, Surbana Jurong was also the keynote speaker for the event. In his speech, Navigating the Next Lap – The FM Digitalisation Journey, he outlined a three-pronged approach for FM practitioners to harness future opportunities: adaptation of technology; a holistic design approach for FM and not just as an afterthought, and the training and upskilling of FM practitioners.
