Aquatic Science Centre

The Aquatic Science Centre was designed to meet multiple users’ requirements including five individual research groups, an outreach centre to accommodate laboratories, offices and meeting places with visitors. It also had to enable rainfall collection for the research requirement itself.

Our task was to design a functional research centre devoted to examining water quality for Singapore-Delft Water Alliance (SDWA). The SDWA is a G-to-G research collaboration between Singapore and Netherlands. We delivered an innovative solution that perfectly blended the three criteria – functionality, form and cost-efficiency, in construction and maintenance.

This research centre is the first of its kind in Singapore. Our design solution satisfied the standards set by one of the world’s leading water research groups – the Netherlands Deltares Group.

The project was accorded the BCA Green Mark Gold Plus Award (2011).
