EastLink I & II @ Canberra

With its distinctive undulating bands inspired by flowing rivers, EastLink I & II @ Canberra is a landmark to the Sembawang neighbourhood in northern Singapore. The bands meander through the residential estate, weaving together activities, landscape spaces and playgrounds, celebrating community life.

Located in the heart of Sembawang, EastLink I & II @ Canberra is sited across the road from the upcoming Canberra MRT station, along Canberra Link, the development’s namesake. A series of elevated linkways connects Eastlink I (comprising of six residential blocks ranging from 11 to 12 storeys) to Eastlink II (comprising of five 11-storey residential blocks), embedding a network of pedestrian connectivity between the 2 estates and connecting residents to amenities such as the neighbourhood centre, communal plaza and precinct markers.

Completed in 2020, the development includes a 3-storey neighbourhood centre – Canberra Plaza, that integrates childcare and eldercare with spaces and activity nodes for all age groups, creating vibrancy in a new neighbourhood as a family centric development.

Designed by SAA Architects, a member of Surbana Jurong Group, the project has received global recognition at the acclaimed World Architecture News Awards 2021 and the HDB Design Awards 2021. The project’s engineer is KTP, a member of Surbana Jurong Group.
