Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City
Surbana Jurong’s master plan for Tianjin Eco-City will guide its development into a socially harmonious, environmentally friendly and resource-efficient model city. It will serve as the model for future planning of sustainable cities in China.
Tianjin Eco-City is planned to be compact, with a good mix of land uses. It will have extensive green (vegetation) and blue (water) networks to provide an attractive environment for people to live, work and play.
A 12-kilometre eco-valley that runs through the core of the city acts as a recreational corridor and drainage system for harvesting rain water on the ground level. It also serves as a utilities corridor and houses the train system beneath the ground.
We also created the Eco-City’s first public housing project. Based on Singapore’s model, the housing project was designed to be green, comfortable, convenient, and replicable corridor and houses the train system beneath the ground.
