MOU to boost urban and infrastructure development in Indian state of Manipur

Surbana Jurong has signed an MoU with the Government of Manipur in India to facilitate urban and infrastructure development as well as job creation in the Indian state. The MOU will also allow for the creation of a platform to invite international investments that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The MOU covers the following key areas:

  1. Formulate a proposal for marketable strategy and provide collaborator GS Partners with the requirements to shortlist a range of investable projects for approval by the Government of Manipur;
  2. Investments in
    a. Electric Bus Transit Infrastructure
    b. Transit Oriented Development as Economic Hubs
    c. Smart Health
    d. Energy Generation and Transmission, and
    e. Affordable Housing.

The MoU was signed by Dr J Suresh Babu, Manipur’s Chief Secretary, and Ms Meera Girija Tadimeti, Head of Marketing at Surbana Jurong’s India subsidiary, Jurong Consultants. Manipur’s Honorable Chief Minister Shri Nongthombam Biren Singh, Principal Secretary Rakesh Ranjan, and the Commissioner of Public Health Engineering and Tourism, Ms Nidhi Kesarwani, were also present.
