Surbana Jurong and SMEC have delivered a masterplan of Minglanilla Techno Park Reclamation for MingMori Development Corporation, a subsidiary of Cebu Landmasters Inc (CLI). Located in the Province of Cebu in Central Philippines, Minglanilla Techno Park involves the reclamation of two islands over an area spanning 100 ha.
The project will feature the preservation of an existing mangrove, which would be transformed into a proposed 5-ha central park for the development. Additional public amenities will include a promenade with plazas, parks, floating recreation platforms, and tidal pools, making the Techno Park an exciting showcase of sustainability, as well as a vibrant community in Cebu. The Cebu Metropolitan Area is the second largest metropolitan area in the Philippines, after Metro Manila.
The scope of services includes Concept Master Plan, Infrastructure Master Plan, and Schematic Reclamation/ Coastal Engineering. SJ Planning Group, SMEC Philippines, SJ Coastal Engineering, and Malaysia Planning Team collaborated in this effort.
SJ and SMEC delivered the work in a record time of six months in May 2021 and contributed significantly to obtaining approvals from the local government unit and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).
As a result, the Municipality of Minglanilla and MingMori Development Corporation signed an agreement with the PRA in June 2021 to move forward with the detailed design.
