SJ wins a technology excellence award in IoT

Award win by Eugene Seah and team V2

Mr. Eugene Seah (center), Managing Director for SJ’s Smart City Solutions with his team and the SBR award.

Surbana Jurong has bagged the IoT – Building Services & Facilities award in the 2022 Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards. The Surbana Jurong Technologies team won the award for the successful deployment of 31 sensors scanning over 112 data points in a 400 sqm space at SJ’s Collaboration Hub in Singapore.

The sensors are connected to an enterprise 24K platform that integrates the monitoring of various performance metrics including indoor air quality, carbon dioxide levels, lighting brightness, temperature, humidity, volatile organic compounds (VOC), energy usage, and water consumption.

The project has led to a five percent savings in electricity bills and an increase in productivity. It has shaped user behavior as users would consciously turn off lights and air-conditioning after use and clean whiteboards as the platform can monitor occupancy movements.  The data on usage trends will help the project team to better design collaboration spaces.
