Surbana Jurong Chairman launches fifth book

Singapore’s Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat arriving at the book launch, being accompanied by Mr Liew, who also conducted a book-signing session at the event.

Surbana Jurong Chairman Liew Mun Leong’s erudite nature and flair for story-telling came to the fore once again as he released the fifth book in his Sunday Emails From A Chairman series.

The book, which captures not only his frank recounts of industry events and corporate lessons, but also his thoughts on lighter matters such as food and art, was launched at the National Library, Singapore in December 2018.

Singapore’s Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat, who was the guest-of-honour at the event, gave a speech in which he outlined three themes from the book that resonated with him: cultivating a spirit of leadership, engaging and developing people, as well as embracing lifelong learning.

The book is on sale at Singapore bookstores and online. Royalties will go to Temasek Foundation Nurtures, which funds and supports programmes focusing on education and professional development.
