Surbana Jurong’s North Asia General Manager (Architecture) Wong Tim Fatt recently participated in a panel discussion on the integrated development of smart cities and industrial clusters at the RICS Smart City Summit held in Shanghai, China. It was organised by global chartered surveyors organisation RICS.
The summit, which aimed to showcase the diversified applications and innovative tech developments for city building, brought together senior executives from Alibaba Group, Huajian Digital, DTZ, Gaoli International, Tiangong Engineering Consulting, AFC Capital and Shui On Land Limited, and other industry experts and regulatory authorities.
At the panel discussion, Mr Wong discussed how the constant evolution of technology influences a city’s development vis a vis its urbanisation and liveability. He quoted the first bilateral project between Singapore and China – Suzhou Industrial Park, master planned by Surbana Jurong – as an example of an integrated township with industrial parks development designed with the focus on sustainability and technology innovation.
