Two Robert Bird Group (RBG) projects have garnered top awards.
- One Central Park Sydney was named the 2019 Best Master Planned Urban Habitat Award – Asia-Pacific winner at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards.
- A monument in Abu Dhabi has won in the Metal in Architecture category at the 2018 World Architecture News Awards.
For One Central Park Sydney, RBG provided structural and construction engineering services on this prestigious development that has been a decade in the making. For Wahat Al Karama, a war memorial in Abu Dhabi, RBG enabled a seemingly simple form to be achieved through an innovative design of the structure beneath the aluminium panels. This allowed the 31 leaning tablets – which symbolise the support between soldiers, families, and citizens in the face of adversity – to rise without visible fixings.
Adding another feather to the cap, RBG’s Battersea Phase 3A team was voted by Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) as “2019 Team of the Year”, out of all the consultants and contractors working on the prestigious project.
The BPSDC is in the middle of a five-year project to transform Battersea Power Station, a historical landmark in London, into 250 apartments, along with retail and leisure units and office space.
