A major resort development in South Africa has chosen to engage the civil engineering services of SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group. It was appointed by Zimbali Resort Developments Joint Venture to work on the Zimbali Lakes Resort Development Project in South Africa, covering all proposed phases of the development.
The Zimbali Lakes Resort will comprise a hotel, resort residential units, a retirement village, a mixed-use development and an 18-hole golf course. SMEC is responsible for the detailed design and implementation, including coordination between all services, including the construction of drainage and relocation of sewer and electrical lines. The project duration is 30 months from October 2018.
