Surbana Jurong is playing a key role in the expansion of Singapore’s sewerage network, in the north-eastern region of Singapore. The proposed sewerline will be a huge and challenging project, as the network will be located within Singapore’s urbanised and high-density housing area, stretching 6km from Old Tampines Road all the way to Upper Changi Road. Deep excavation works will also be undertaken, to construct 30 manholes across the sewerline. The new sewerline will have an internal diameter of 2,500mm, which will be installed by pipe-jacking method at depths of between 15 and 35 metres, while the manholes will be constructed by deep excavation works.
